Wow that just brought back the terrors...I read that several times but it just now hit me. I remember being terrified of the earth opening up and swollowing me at Armageddon if I didn't go to all the meetings, study the books, and make good progress...no wonder it took me into adulthood to get completly free of them. The whole stink with the DaVinci Code tells me that the situation is fairly the same in other denominations as well.

The da Vinci code is seen by mainstream Christianity for what it is, a great novel, fairly good movie, but not based on reliable evidence. It has sparked renewed interest in the Catholic church in a positive way.

Kate, he is actually more scary than any JW talk I sat through as a child. I know there are different groups out there, dangerous too for ex-jws just leaving, from that pan into the fire.

I totally agree with you there. After the JWs if anything we need peace, love, grace....not more condemnation.

You can see the how he deviates at that link. I have done a lot of checking into the Christian Research Institute and have come to trust their quotes. Their only agenda is in quoting what leaders teach and comparing it to historic Christianity and the Nicene Creed.

Actually mainstream Christians consider Hagee to be part of the charismania movement. He deviates from the Nicene Creed.

My husband is certified with Child Evangelism Fellowship, a 75 year old ministry for children. There is none of that in CEF now. My husband when a child would be picked up in the church bus, taken to CEF Sunday school, where he still remembers the fun and the songs he was taught. I remember the fear and the pictures and the hours of indoctrination and little children being beaten in the bathrooms.

"Another gospel" was started by the freaky Kathrine Kuhlman. Benny Hinn and Hagee are followers of hers. We have to separate those who deviate from the gospel of grace, to the gospel of fear. It is not fair to the beloved Christian leaders who have never taught hate, fear and terrorised children.

It's kinda funny how churches and religion have been doing this for hundreds of years

Not to change the subject but I don't know of any doing this to children today. I was a Sunday School Superintendent and dealt with just about ALL mainstream ciriculum available today. I assure you, no mainstream churches today would ever use this type of terror on a child. It is unthinkable.

For those of us who have asked and received, the experience of Christ goes beyond and deeper than words. Jesus comes to me. His Spirit has manifest in my life. He is more than an angel, more than a religion, more than a dead man.

Jesus is the Word of God. He was before He came down here. When he was here, he spoke to us. When he died and rose from the grave, he spoke to us, when he rose to heaven he spoke to us. He called to Paul from heaven and Pauls life was forever changed.

This morning it is really hitting me how gruesome it all was. I love children so much and would never consider showing them pictures like this. When mine were young I would cover their eyes if we were watching a movie and there was any violence at all.

Thank you for the pictures, I hope it helps my friend a bit to desensitise. I used to have bad panic attacks when going through this stuff.

Talking about it with my friend tonight brought back memories too. We had to repress so much. The pictures were so horrid for children to look at. Where were the calming lullaby poems and cute cuddly animal pictures? We got babies being burned alive.....sighs....
